MacBook Pro M5, M5 Pro and M5 Max — configurations and prices in Serbia
If you are choosing a MacBook Pro, you are probably not choosing it for its looks. You are choosing it because it is a tool for work, and a tool is expected to run for days without a hitch and to pay for itself within a couple of years. That is where the MacBook Pro makes sense: fast enough that you will not outgrow it in a year, and stable enough that you forget about it while you work.
As an authorized Apple reseller in Serbia, iComp offers the current configurations with M5, M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, in the 14″ and 16″ formats.

M5, M5 Pro or M5 Max - which chip do you need
All three chips share the same architecture and the same macOS; the difference is in raw power and in how much memory and how many cores you can get. The Pro and Max models use the new Fusion architecture that joins two 3nm dies into a single chip, bringing noticeably faster graphics and higher memory bandwidth than the previous M4 generation.
One thing worth knowing before you go further: the base M5 comes only in the 14″ body. If you need a 16″ screen, you are choosing between the M5 Pro and the M5 Max.
A few numbers behind these configurations: the M5 Max has memory bandwidth of up to 614 GB/s, the Pro and Max models have three Thunderbolt 5 ports (considerably faster transfer than the TB4 on the base M5), and there is Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 as well. Apple states up to 24 hours of battery life for the new Pro and Max models.
MacBook Pro for your business
Programming and development. The base M5 handles compiling, Docker containers, local databases and several VS Code windows at once just fine. If you run heavy builds or several virtual machines, the M5 Pro and more memory shorten the wait.
Video and photography. For 4K editing and large Lightroom catalogs the base M5 is enough. As soon as you move into 8K RAW, multiple streams and heavy effects, the M5 Max and its memory bandwidth make the difference between a smooth timeline and stuttering.
3D, design and machine learning. Rendering, simulations and local AI models love cores and memory. Here the M5 Max with up to 128GB of unified memory does work that until recently required a desktop workstation.
Everyday professional work. If you spend most of your time in spreadsheets, presentations, a browser with fifty tabs and occasionally Photoshop, the base M5 with 16GB or 24GB is a sensible choice you will not outgrow.
14″ or 16″
Both models have the same Liquid Retina XDR display with excellent contrast and accurate colors. The difference is in the format and in how mobile you are.
14 inches is for those who really carry their laptop. It is lighter, it fits in any bag, and it gives up nothing in performance. A logical choice if you work between the office, home and the field.
16 inches is for those whose laptop screen is their main workspace and who rarely connect an external monitor. More room for timelines, spreadsheets and development environments, plus a larger battery and longer runtime. To repeat: 16″ comes only with the M5 Pro or M5 Max.
